Donald Earl Kinder, 70, formerly of Petersburg, Ind. passed away on Friday March 23, 2012, at his home in Greenfield. Donald was born on April 29, 1941, in Pike County, to Alsie Ray and Nora Ethel (Sutton) Kinder.
He retired from Chrysler in 1994 and a member and Deacon of Hephzibah Littles General Baptist church from 1994 to 2012 and member and deacon Morristown Christian Church 1982-1988. Retired from North Patoka Volunteer Fire Dept. after 14 years of service, also member of Morristown Masonic Lodge 193 where he was past master. He very proudly served in the Air Force.
Surviving by his wife, Alice Faye (Stephens) Kinder of Greenfield; Daughter, Mechelle (Tim) Smith of Greenfield; Son, Mark (Jamie) Kinder of Winslow, Ind.; Grandchildren, Tricia Kinder- Hinton (Tory), James and Laura Kinder of Winslow, Brittany and Kara Smith of Greenfield; Great Grandchildren, Taylor and Taia Hinton, Colby and Madison Kinder of Winslow, Caden Schulz of Greenfield, Jayden Gordon of Petersburg, Ind.; One sister, Lavon Pancake of Petersburg; and three brothers, John (Tess) Kinder of Evansville, Ind., Don (Betty) Kinder of New Bedford, Mass. and Oran Kinder of Sturgis, Mich.
Was preceded in death by his parents, Alsie Ray and Nora Ethel (Sutton) Kinder; brother’s, Lawrence and Gordon Kinder; sister’s, Vonda Ashby, Violet Kinder and Relda Harper.
Services was on Monday March 26, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Hephzibah Littles General Baptist in Littles, Ind. with burial in Blackfoot Cemetery in Coe, Ind. Rev. Keith A. Jenkins officiating. Visitation was from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 25, 2012, at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel in Oakland City, Ind. Service will be at 9 a.m. on Monday, March 26, 2012, at the church.
Oakland City Masonic Lodge 467 conducted memorial services at 6 p.m. on Sunday March 25, 2012, at the chapel.
