Floyd J. Rowe, 65, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2012, at Hancock Regional Hospital. Born on Nov. 30, 1946, in Mt. Vernon, Ky., he was the son of Millard and Alma (McKinney) Rowe.
He graduated from Ivy Tech in Indianapolis and served in the Marines during the Vietnam War. He married Billie (Lipps) Rowe on April 12, 1970, in Indianapolis. Floyd worked for Navistar for many years before retiring. He was also the owner of Grace Insulation and Remodeling and Grace Banquet Hall. He also worked as a bus driver for Greenfield Schools. Floyd was a licensed realtor, a mission’s volunteer, and a member of Faith Trinity Pentecostal Church. He participated in the Riley Festival and Hancock County 4-H. He enjoyed clowning, ministering to everyone, and going to auctions and garage sales. He loved his children and grandchildren.
Surviving him are his wife, Billie Rowe; sons, Shane Rowe, Jason (Tonya Walls) Rowe, both of Greenfield; siblings, Jack (Julie) Rowe of Mt. Vernon, Ky., Gerald (Shirley) Rowe, of Greenfield, Ed (Trudy) Rowe of Greenfield, Linda Childress of Kuna, Idaho, Glenda (Dave) Frady of Greenfield; grandchildren, Cyrus Colestock, Gage Rowe, Degan Rowe; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; Millard and Alma (McKinney) Rowe; sister, Francis Meece; and brother, Timothy Rowe.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 25, 2012, at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Funeral services will be at noon on Monday, March 26, 2012, also at the mortuary. Brother Perry Fouts will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
