Gary W. Collins, age 54, of Greenfield, passed away on March 17, 2012. Born on October 28, 1957, in Noblesville, he was the son of John and Patti (Shy) Collins.

Gary is a 1976 graduate of Hamilton Southeastern High School and worked for Diamond Chain Company in Indianapolis since 1988. He married Karen S. Dobson on July 24, 1998, at Judy’s Wedding Chapel in Greenfield. Gary was a member of the Middletown Conservation Club and Park Chapel Christian Church. He loved listening to bluegrass music, hunting, fishing, and camping. Gary read the sports page every day and loved the Pacers and Colts.

 Surviving him are his wife, Karen S. Collins of Greenfield; daughter, Jessica Maggart of Nineveh; grandchildren, Ethan and Brooklyn Maggart; siblings, Vickie (Ed) Dick and Terry Collins, both of Noblesville; half-brother, Larry (Janet) Collins of Scottsburg; nieces and nephews, Tim (Amber) Goin, Mandy Goin, Ashley Dick, and Brian Collins; great-nephews, Evan and Jacob Goin; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Elmer and Eddath Dobson of Ingalls; brother-in-law, Merle (Becky) Dobson; and sisters-in-law, Regina (Mark) Merritt and Tonya (Don) Slovarp.

Preceding him in death were his parents, John and Patti (Shy) Collins; and half-brother, Charles Collins.

 Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at the mortuary. Burial will follow at Gravel Lawn Cemetery in Fortville.

 Memorial contributions may be made to the National Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or to IU Bone Marrow Transplant.
