John Henry Brackin, Jr., age 77, of Indianapolis, died on Nov. 11, 2011. The son of John H., Sr. and Kathleen Freedle Brackin, John was born on Oct. 13, 1934, in Gallatin, Tenn.
John served in the Tennessee National Guard.
John is survived by his son, Dale A. (Pamela) Brackin; daughter, Janet L. (Bruce) Vahle; four grandsons; and three great-grandsons.
Besides his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; and siblings, James Brackin and Evelyn Flynn.
Friends and family were called from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 14, 2011, at Hendryx Mortuary, Cumberland Chapel, 11636 E. Washington St., Indianapolis. Services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov.15, 2011, at the mortuary. Burial will take place at Washington Park East Cemetery.
