Mrs. Edith E. Rigdon, age 91, of Salem died on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011, at Kentuckiana Medical Center. Mrs. Rigdon was born on Sept. 9, 1920, in Dunreith, Ind., the daughter of Arlie Raymond and Evelyn E. Wicker Brewer.
She is survived by six sons, Winifred, Kenneth and David Wainscott, all of Salem, Ind., Frederick Wainscott of Fountaintown, Ind., Dudley Wainscott of Colo., and Gilford Wainscott of Indianapolis; daughter, Margaret Perry of Salem, Ind., brother, Ray Brewer of Manilia, Ind.; and 24 grandchildren.
Edith was married to Marshall Wainscott and he preceded her in death in 1982. She then married Waldo Rigdon and he preceded her in death in 1994. She was also preceded in death by two brothers; and her parents.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011, and from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 31, 2011, at Weathers Funeral Home in Salem, Ind. Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 31, 2011 at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 31, 2011, at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown, Ind.
