Wayne E. Circle, age 93, a resident of Greenfield passed away on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011. He was born in Zanesville, Ohio on July 5, 1918, to the late Henry Lewis and Clara Matilda (Crosier) Circle.

He graduated from Charlottesville High School in 1937. He served in the U.S. Army in Alaska, The Philippines and Korea from 1942 to 1946. He worked as the office manager and bookkeeper for Irving Materials Inc. from 1948 to 1957. In 1957 he formed a corporation to build Greenfield Lanes, which he operated as a majority stockholder. He was an avid bowler and traveled to many states to participate in bowling tournaments with family and friends. He was involved with the bowling industry until 1997 when Greenfield Lanes was sold to AMF Corp.

 He was a Past President of the Indiana Bowling Proprietors, Greenfield Lions Club and Greenfield Central Band Parents. He was a 65 year member of the Englewood Masonic Lodge No. 715, a 50 Year member of Royal Arch Masons Chapter 96, a member of the Scottish Rite, the Murat Shrine Club, American Legion Post 119 of Greenfield and VFW Post 2693 of Greenfield.

He is survived by sons, Larry (Susie) Circle of Greenfield, Chuck (Alice) Circle of N. Augusta, SC., Jeff (Nancy) Circle of Indianapolis, Jon (Karen) Murnan Of Indianapolis; daughters, Sandy (Dave) Hine of Greenfield and Debbie (Rodger) Shively of Greenfield; daughter-in-law, Connie Murnan Cole of Greenfield, 17 grandchildren,19 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife of 25 years, Mary Louise (Hudson) and his second wife of 42 years, Evelyn Virginia (Macy) Murnan, brothers Lester, Gordon and Jack, son Charles W. Murnan III and a grandson, Jon Patrick Murnan II.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 4th, 2011, at the Stillinger Family Funeral Home (Pasco Chapel) of Greenfield. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m.on Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011, at the Stillinger Family Funeral Home (Pasco Chapel) of Greenfield. Burial will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery, Indianapolis.
