Joyce A. Scott, age 69, of McCordsville passed away on Oct. 1, 2011, peacefully at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on April 16, 1942, in Lawrence to the late Richard and Dorothy (Jones) Spaulding.
Joyce served at Union Federal Finance Center until her retirement in 2003. She was also a homemaker and a member of McCordsville United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.
She is survived by her husband of over 47 years, Norman Bruce Scott, whom she married on June 21, 1964, in McCordsville; daughters, Robin (Robbie) Dukes, Debbie (John) Houts, Lori (Sean) Hodge, and Shelly (Vic) Coleman; son, Norman Bruce Scott, Jr.; 18 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Richard Spaulding, Tim (Lynn) Spaulding and Brian Spaulding; and sisters, Kathy (Dale) Happe and Susie (Jeff) Gossage.
Joyce was preceded in death by her brother Paul Turner and nephew Ryan Happe.
Friends called from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 3, 2011, at McCordsville United Methodist Church, 6247 Broadway, McCordsville. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011, at the church. Burial will follow at Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville. Services entrusted to Seals Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
