Dessa Ellen Goodwin Morgan, age 95, of Markleville, Ind., went to be with her heavenly Father on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, at Hancock Regional Hospital surrounded by loving family. She was born on Nov. 22, 1915, in Fleming County, Ky., the daughter of the late Walter and Nancy (Jackson) Goodwin.

Dessa lived in Markleville and retired from Delco Remy Division of General Motors in May of 1981 after 36 years of service. She was a member of the Markleville North Christian Church. She lived her faith to the fullest, continuously providing love and care for those in need. She will be fondly remembered, but sadly missed by family; numerous church friends; and her faithful dog, Babe. She also loved gardening.

 She is survived by two sons, Robert (Sondra) Stanfield of Anderson, and Charles (Carol) Stanfield of Marion; grandsons, Jeff (Bobbi) Stanfield of Bremen, Anthony Stanfield of Pendleton, Christopher Stanfield of Anderson; granddaughters, Marcia Bargo of Anderson, Deborah Andrews of Pendleton; great grandsons, Brandon Douglas of Anderson, James C. Stanfield of Bremen, Dane Stanfield of Cicero, Michael Moore of Pendleton; great granddaughters, Heather Stanfield of Colorado, Mallory Moore of Pendleton, Jessica Stanfield of Bremen; great-great granddaughter, Avery Moore of Pendleton; a brother, Clarence Goodwin of Knightstown; a sister, Goldie Jackson of Knightstown; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Morgan; brothers, George Goodwin, Oral Goodwin and stillborn twin brothers; sisters, Grace Thompson and Lena Caudill.

 Friends may call from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2001, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel. A Service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 3, 2011. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Anderson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Markleville North Christian Church or the Hancock Regional Hospital Hospice with envelopes available at the funeral home.
