Allie Dean (Ferguson) Anderson, age 89, of Greenfield, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, at Morristown Manor. Born on April 11, 1922, in Heber Spring, Ark., she was the daughter of John A. and Melvina (Milam) Ferguson. She married Bruce C. Anderson on Aug. 30, 1939.

 Allie was a self-employed seamstress. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Greenfield and the Red Hat Society. She was also past President of the Brown County Republican Committee and a member of the Trevlac Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary.

Surviving Allie are her husband of 72 years, Bruce C. Anderson; son, Bruce Wayne Anderson of Anderson; daughters, Barbara J. (Claris) Short-Schuyler of New Palestine, Helen L. Underwood of Anderson, and Karen S. (William) Roehling of Mooresville; 11 grandchildren, Troy Short, Rhonda Long, Shirley Huntsman, James Thomas, Kari McCormick, Lisa Koedyker, Tracey Anderson, Jodi Anderson, Erica Roehling, Erin Coram, and Delvan Roehling; 22 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; a great-grandchild; brothers, Arless Ferguson and Wilburn Ferguson; and sisters, Glenna Ferguson, Una Garner, and Lena Tally.

 Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.on Friday, Sept. 30, 2011, at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday., Oct.1, 2011, at Bethel Baptist Church in Greenfield. Pastor Randall Parker will officiate. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
