Earl L. Lyle, 91 of Wilkinson, died Monday, June 20, 2011 at Regency Place in Greenfield where he had been a resident for the past year. He was born Jan. 8, 1920 in West Manayunk, Pa. the son of the late James and Edith (Lentz) Lyle.
He was a veteran of the US Air Force serving during World War II and was deployed to the East Indies in Papua New Guinea. Earl enlisted in the Air Force in Aug., 1939 and retired following 20 years of service. He was awarded the American Defense Service Medal, Asiatic Pacific Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars. In previous years he attended an Episcopal Church in Indianapolis.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Betty Lyle; five brothers and sisters.
