Elizabeth Andis Boles Axon, age 87, of Greenfield, passed away on May 30, 2011, at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. Born on Aug. 3, 1923, in Hancock County, she was the daughter of Robert E. and Carrie E. (Duncan) Andis.
She graduated from Maxwell High School in 1941 and married Charles H. Boles who preceded her in death. She then married Gordon R. Axon and he also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Axon was a member of Park Chapel Christian Church, the First Church of God, Order of the Eastern Star in New Palestine, and the American Legion Auxiliary- Post #119 of Greenfield. She loved shopping and reading her bible.
Surviving her are her daughters, Phyllis Decker of Greenfield and Mary “Betty” E. (Virgil) Taylor of Lebanon, Mo.; grandchildren, Kenny Haste, Mike Weber, Scott Weber, E. Ann Williams, and Bethany Ford; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husbands; a son, Charles Richard Boles; and her brothers, Alva, Bill, Don, Dale, Kenneth, and Eugene Andis.
