James E. Baker, 80, a resident of Greenfield, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Regency Place of Greenfield. He was born Oct., 18, 1930 in Milan, Ind. to the late Burt and Edna (McLafferty) Baker.
A resident of Greenfield since 1946, he played professional baseball in 1949 at Gainesville, Texas. Through the years he was a participant and coach of baseball in numerous leagues and was manager of Post #119 American Legion Baseball for over ten years.
James is survived by his wife, Sue; son, Jeff (Alexandra) Baker; grandchildren, Neal (Sarah) Baker, Kelly (Daniel) Justice, Joe Baker; great grandson, Jordan Justice and a sister, Joyce Allford.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Daniel Baker.
A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield.
