Roger Lee Prickett, age 64, of Fortville, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2011, at his home in Fortville. Born on Dec. 14, 1946, in Indianapolis, he was the son of Forrest and Margaret Jeanette (Hunt) Prickett.
Roger graduated from Vernon Township Schools in 1966 and worked for Lawrence Township schools as a maintenance worker for many years. He also worked as a maintenance worker at Reebok for 12 years before retiring in 2009. He was a member of the Eden Masonic Lodge of Eden, the Scottish Rite of Indianapolis, the VFW of Fortville, and loved NASCAR, fishing, and hunting Morels. Mr. Prickett was also a United States Army Veteran.
Surviving him are his wife and companion of 34 years, Mary “Chris” Holland of Fortville; son, Roger Lee (Pam) Prickett, Jr. of Noblesville; daughter, Trish (Donny) Sands of Ingalls; sister, Pamela Schafer of Indianapolis; and grandchildren, Jessica, Mason, Madison, Morgan, Lane, and Myah.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at Erlewein Mortuary in Fortville. A Masonic Service will take place at 6:30 p.m. and funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. Pastor Larry Bigham will be officiating. Graveside services will take place at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2011, at Gravel Lawn Cemetery in Fortville.
