Loretta L. Powell, 89, of Fortville, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011 at Riverwalk Village in Noblesville. She was born Mar. 28, 1921 in Monette, Ark. to Elzy and Elizabeth Needham.
She is survived by children: Rita (Frank) Goode of Lapel; Robert (Joyce) Powell of Ingalls, Cecil (Kathy) Powell of Rushville, David Powell of Ingalls, Vernie (Darlene) Powell of Ingalls, Phillip (Raeann) Powell of Ingalls and Ronnie (Brenda) Powell of Fortville; 32 grandchildren and 72 great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Vernie Powell; parents; sons: Danny and Kevin; daughter: Marilyn Ledger; granddaughter Sherry Allgood; two brothers; and five sisters.
Friends called from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011 at Seals Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fortville. A celebration of Loretta’s life were held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011 at the funeral home with Rev. Woodrow Alley officiating. Burial will follow at Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville.
