Wauneta M. Samuels, 93, a resident of Greenfield passed away Sunday, Jan. 23, 2011, at Hancock Regional Hospital. She was born Dec. 6, 1917, in Rush County, Ind., to the late Galen G. and Eva (Young) Boring.
Wauneta was employed as a legal secretary for attorneys Wolf and Robak for 17 years and retired in 1985. She was a life long member of the First Presbyterian Church of Greenfield.
Survivors include husband, James B. Samuels, to whom she was married for 73 years; son, Phillip (Carol) Samuels of Greenfield; grandsons, Douglas (Dana) Samuels of Grabill, Ind., Dr. Brian (Anna) Samuels of Indianapolis; two step-grandsons, David W. Young II of Seattle, Wash., Joseph K. Young of Chicago, Ill.; two great-grandchildren, Raegan and T.J. Samuels.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Carrell Boring; and a sister, Frances Pyles.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel in Greenfield. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011, at the funeral home, with Pastor John Paulson officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
