Tobacco Free Coalition to be highlighted at meeting

GREENFIELD – Learn about the Tobacco Free Coalition with guest speaker Brandee Bastin at an event May 7.

The Greenfield Area Chamber of Commerce will host the event at its regular meeting, 11:30 a.m. May 7 at NineStar Connect, 2243 E. Main St., Greenfield. Cost is $15 and includes a catered lunch. Register by May 3 at greenfieldcc.org.

The Hancock County Tobacco Free Coalition is a nonprofit organization that works to build a healthier community through the prevention and cessation of tobacco use. Bastin is the tobacco initiative coordinator for Hancock Health and the coalition.

“Grease” coming to MVHS

FORTVILLE — “Grease” is the word at Mt. Vernon High School this week.

The musical performance of “Grease: School Version” is Thursday through Sunday at the MVHS theater. Show times are 7 p.m. April 25, 7 p.m. April 27, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. April 27, and 2 p.m. April 28. Advance tickets online are $16 for adults and $12 for children 18 and younger. At the door tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for children. The production is recommended for ages 6 and up. Recycle event April 27

GREENFIELD – Recycle hazardous waste, tires, electronics and more in an upcoming event hosted by Recycle Hancock County.

The spring collection event is 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 27 at Elanco, 2500 Innovation Way, Greenfield. Cost is $5 per carload for hazardous waste, $5 per carload for electronics plus additional fees for TVs and monitors; $3 per box for document shredding, $4.50 for tires with the rim off, $5 for tires with the rim on; and $1 to $5 for latex paint. Cash and credit card are accepted.
