Creating a fire territory for Vernon Township -- considered essential as the township outgrows its current emergency services -- will wind up costing some taxpayers more money. (Tom Russo | Daily Reporter)

FORTVILLE — Vernon Township Fire Station No. 3, 600 Vitality Drive, Fortville, is hosting an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 4.

The event will feature fire trucks, a medical helicopter, police dogs, a food truck and ice cream.
